Orwell Astronomical Society (Ipswich)
Membership
We welcome new members! If you are interested in joining, please attend one of the meetings of OASI@Newbourne. There you will meet some of our enthusiastic members who will share with you their passion for astronomy and tell you about OASI and the activities that we pursue.
Upcoming OASI@Newbourne meetings are on the following dates (see our Events page for details):
You may join OASI at a meeting at Newbourne. Alternatively, you may download a membership application form. Kindly complete and return it with a cheque for the appropriate amount to the address on the form. If you are a UK taxpayer, please also consider completing the Gift Aid declaration. You may also apply for membership by Paypal or credit card.
Anyone who wishes to attend more than two Newbourne meetings (or other OASI events, excluding public-access events) is expected to become a member of OASI.
Membership of OASI is at the discretion of the Committee. If your membership application is rejected, your membership fee will be returned.
Existing members of OASI will receive a membership renewal form in January which should be completed and returned with a cheque to the address on the form.
Alternatively, membership may be renewed by Paypal or credit card.
Membership entitles an individual and his/her immediate family (spouse, partner, children, parents) to attend all OASI meetings and events. At committee or other meetings, membership carries only one vote. For child protection purposes, all persons under 18 years old must be accompanied at meetings and events by a parent/guardian.
Subscriptions are due on 01 January each year.
New members joining January - August pay pro rata the annual rate and should renew subscriptions in January of the following year.
New members joining September - December pay the annual rate and should renew subscriptions in the second January after joining.
Joining or renewing in December 2024, the fee is £20.00 and subsequent renewal is due on 01 January 2026.
